All through the month of October, enjoy our train ride around GP&S mile long loop, decorated with not-too-scary seasonal decor and installations. Price of the train ride is $3 for children and senior adults, and $4 for adults. Infants 18 months and younger ride free.
Then, October 28 and 29th, we’ll have a mini-pumpkin patch for you to purchase the perfect little pumpkin, AND include kid-safe carving and decorating stations! In addition, our neighbors at Griffith Park Cafe will have seasonal food and crafted beverages for purchase.

Pumpkins, Train Rides, and Good Eats!
Autumn in Griffith Park is beautiful, and we are celebrating sweater weather all season long with family-friendly seasonal decor around the track at Griffith Park & Southern Railroad.
Then, the weekend of October 28th and 29th, we are partnering up with our neighbor at the Griffith Park Cafe to offer a mini-pumpkin patch with kid-friendly carving and decorating stations!
Pumpkins, Train Rides, & Good Eats Weekend
No, not this year. Instead, we are decorating the track at GP&S with seasonal and family-friendly installations to be enjoyed during daylight hours AND for our regular train ride prices. The train takes our passenger guests on a mile-long loop at Griffith Park & Southern Railroad, over a bridge, through a tunnel, and past our Old Frontier town. The ride is approximately 8 to 10 minutes long, winding through the natural landscape of our section of Griffith Park.
Hidden along the track, within eye sight of the train, will be special pumpkins and decor for you to find and enjoy from the train.
The decor and Pumpkin Patch event was designed in consideration of children ages 10 years and younger, but all ages and abilities are enthusiastically welcome on our train and to our events.

There is no need to purchase tickets in advance.
Except in the case of rain or a weather event, we run our trains everyday from 10am to 4:30pm weekdays/10am to 5:00pm weekends. Any wait time is less than 20 minutes, unless we are closed for lunch or breaks.
The Pumpkin Patch will be first come, first serve on October 28th and October 29th.
Our tickets nonrefundable tickets. If you find you cannot use your tickets for the day you purchased them for, we will be happy to accommodate you for another day, assuming we have the capacity.
This event is only three days long.
If we (Griffith Park Train Rides) must cancel, close or delay because of weather, we will be happy to accommodate you on another day, or refund your ticket.
We welcome guests of all abilities. However, because our train cars are antique and compact, we are unable to accommodate a wheelchair or walker directly in the car. A guest may use their chair or walker on the platform, but must be able to step up or be lifted 8 inches from the ground to clear the car entrance. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to physically assist our guests with these accommodations.
In addition, in the activity area which is covered in decomposed granite, a wheelchair or walker must be able to navigate ground that will be softer than asphalt or cement.
We do not require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test. We do not require our guests to wear masks, although we are supportive and encouraging of any guest who does.
You may purchase tickets the day of the event, assuming we have capacity.
Yes! We are decorating the track with fun, vintage decor for the season, and do not consider it a special event.
On October 28 and 29, the Pumpkin Patch will be open along with the regular train ride, and pumpkins will be priced based on size.
We do not offer group discounts for the pumpkin patch, but do offer a value ticket price for the regular train ride when you purchase 20 or more tickets at one time. Special events (like the Easter Bunny Train and the Holiday Lights Festival Train Ride) require separate tickets.
Yes! Our talented staff have constructed an autumn themed photo opportunity for our guests, free of charge.
We stop selling tickets when we know we have reached our capacity for that day. Pumpkins are in limited supply, and will sell those until they are gone.
Yes! Our neighbors at the Griffith Park Cafe have a lovely new menu with specialty coffee drinks, boba teas, hot and fresh made food, as well as sweets, popcorn, and cotton candy. They are open for breakfast and lunch, closing at 4:00pm daily.
Yes! We are thrilled that the toy booth will be open Saturday to Sunday during our regular hours.
Animals, including small pets, are not allowed on the train, with the exception of service animals.
